James has a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Manchester where his dissertation focused on Carbon Markets. Since Joining Consilience, James has provided research and analysis in many trading disputes, as well as providing support for consultancy projects. James is the principal researcher cited on Consilience publications such as; “The Consilience Guides” and an in depth review of the Brent benchmark. James has also regularly contributed to many articles published in industry journals and magazines..
Valerie has a Bachelor's Degree in International Applied Finance and International Economics from American University of Paris. Valerie has experience, working in shipping for a Greek Shipowner in Athens, delivering investment analysis and overseeing projects as well as co-founding a thriving shipping and finance conference company operating in Grand Cayman, Hong Kong, USA, and Greece. Valerie has undertaken analysis of shipping, commodities, and trade for energy related companies. Has studied, read and researched oil trading from both derivative and regulatory perspective.
